Ain't that the truth...

No stupid comments about how it's all Bush's fault, okay?

I remember my dad's disbelief when gas went over $1 a gallon. He thought life would never be the same!

Love the cartoons!

Funny stuff.

I gotta say though, other countries, like Canada or the UK, have much higher gas prices. This is only a suprise because it's suddenly happening, and to the US, who is one of the biggest consumers of oil in the world.

I'd support the life-changing aspects of rising oil prices. The only changes I can think of would be eco-friendly and more conservative with the world's resources. Isn't that a good thing?

I can't speak for Edward, but actually I do think Conservation/ alternative energy is a good thing. Nothing like $2.00 a gallon gas to make you appreciate conservation! Not that the alternative options are salvation, though. Face it, nothing's perfect... we should also be finding alternative places to drill.

Great cartoons, Edward!

I have some gas cartoons and will send them to you. You can post them if you like. Because I have dial-up though, I can only send one at a time, otherwise they'll take forever to send. I'll send one now, and more later. I'm getting ready to leave for awhile.

I hate the rise in prices but as an avid dirt bike rider (I own 4 of them) And a 1 ton dually I will continue to fork over the cash to partake in the great American dream of thrashing about in the desert. Until the libs close that down too for some going extinct fly or something.

Welcome to my site, Bushwack.

Gayle, thanks for sending the cartoons. We have dial-up, too, so I know what you mean ;)

Bushwack, won't it be something when you can tear it up in a hydrogen powered dirtbike that produces far more power per gallon of fuel and bottled water for you when you get thirsty?

Of course, you could probably kiss your unit goodbye if you damaged the cell. Heh heh...

Gayle,

I'm still at a loss to how you thought I was directing insults at you.

Looks like hydrogen is the newcomer for energy, but the infrastructure to be able to use is several years away. We may even be using lots of wierd stuff for auto energy. Sort of like the nutty professor in "Back to the Future" when he put banana peels and other crazy things in his fuel tank.

I think the answer to the energy crisis is hybrid cars.

I remember not believing it when it went over 50 cents a gallon. I'm a bit older than JGF. Actually, I remember gas at 18 cents a gallon. Can you even imagine... 18 cents!
